Welcome to UNIVERSITY SYSTEM OF TAIWAN


	The Administrative Structure of the University System of Taiwan is shown in the following page. On top of the Administrative Structure is the UST Steering Committee that serves as the Board of Trustees for the UST on behalf of the Ministry of Education. Dr. Yuan-Tseh Lee, a renowned Nobel Laureate and President of the prestigious Academia Sinica currently chairs the Committee.

	The Chancellor of the University System of Taiwan is appointed by the UST Steering Committee to coordinate the System-wide collaboration as well as allocation of resources among the four universities. The current UST Chancellor is Dr. Chao Han Liu, former President of National Central University. The Chancellor is assisted by three Vi ce Chancellors: Dr. Chien-Shu Hsu, Vice Chancellor for Academics, Dr. Wen-Tsuen Chen, Vice Chancellor for Research, and Dr. Kwang-Jen Hsiao, Vice Chancellor for Operations.

	Council of Presidents provides regular forums for four university presidents, chaired by the UST Chancellor, to make System-wide policies and coordinate joint research and teaching activities among the four universities. 　　The Office of the UST Administration is currently located in the Hsinchu Science- Based Industrial Park.
